Siemens Building North Ryde
Newly completed with the latest technology the cladding system used foam filed steel spandrel panels together with strip windows between. Sunhoods combined to produce an energy efficient façade.
Water penetration was an early problem and a thorough investigation pinpointed the deficiency at the 4 way joints. The horizontal air seal to the panels did not link up with the vertical seal which created a hole through which air and water freely entered the building.
Reconstruction of each of the 4 way joints to the cladding panels solved the problem of water ingress.
