Dalton Chemistry Building UNSW Kensington

The original three storey Dalton Building was completed in 1958 and is the second oldest building on the UNSW campus. Working with Ove Arup Consultants, various options to repair or upgrade the leaking facade were considered and priced for consideration by the University.  Under major refurbishment in 2007, the most cost effective solution to upgrade the facade was the complete over-cladding with Capral St. Lucia aluminium glazing adaptors with G.James Solect vision glass and alpolic aluminium spandrel panels.   All of the work was carried out externally from rough terrain scissors lifts as internal fit out work proceeded without delay.  Other work included the cleaning and resealing of the exposed aggregate precast concrete panels, and replacement of all entry and automatic doors.
